The Iraqi Private Banks League participated in the launch ceremony of the "E-Pulse" project for electronic services, held under the patronage of Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, and attended by the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Ali al-Alaq, the Chairman of the Iraqi Private Banks League Wadee al-Handel, and representatives of several banks and digital wallet companies from Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Al-Handel, the Chairman of the League, affirmed that launching this project represents a qualitative step in the digital transformation of the financial and banking sector, noting that electronic payment initiatives are witnessing rapid development in Iraq, contributing to enhancing financial inclusion, expanding the base of beneficiaries of banking services, as well as supporting transparency and reducing cash transactions.
The League will continue to support initiatives aimed at modernizing banking infrastructure and adopting advanced digital solutions, in alignment with the Central Bank of Iraq’s directions and the country’s financial and economic reform plans, he added.
