The Iraqi Private Banks League, in collaboration with the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ), has concluded the first training course of the "Certified Expert in SME Finance" program. The initiative is implemented in partnership with Frankfurt School of Finance & Management as part of the Strengthening Public Finances and Financial Markets (FFM) project, funded by the European Union and the German government, and coordinated with the Central Bank of Iraq.
The training, spanning 80 hours, brought together Iraqi banking professionals to enhance their expertise in providing advanced financial solutions that support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and strengthen the banking sector’s role in fostering sustainable economic growth.
The program will include five training courses throughout 2025, aimed at further enhancing the capabilities of Iraqi banks and enabling them to better support the SME sector.
