Iraqi Private Banks League Participates in MoU Signing with GIZ and Banks

The Iraqi Private Banks League participated in the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) and a group of banks and financial institutions involved in the Innovation for Financial Inclusion (IN4FI) program.

Representing the league, Deputy Executive Director Ahmed Al-Hashemi emphasized that this international cooperation is a key step toward enhancing financial inclusion and delivering innovative and inclusive financial services to all segments of society.

He noted that the program supports sustainable economic development and offers increased financial opportunities.

The signing ceremony was attended by representatives from the Central Bank of Iraq, the European Union, the German Embassy, and the participating banks and financial institutions, including the National Bank of Iraq, Cihan Bank, First Finance, Neo Iraq, and Vitas.

The IN4FI program aims to support and encourage these banks and financial institutions to develop new products that enhance financial inclusion and extend services to new segments of society, as well as finance micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. This program is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union (EU).
