Iraqi Private Banks League hosts Annual Iraqi Banking Conference in Kurdistan Region
On Saturday, October 21, 2023, the Iraqi Private Banks League hosted the Banking Conference in the Kurdistan Region.

The conference, held under the patronage of Mr. Masrour Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, in collaboration with the Central Bank of Iraq and the Kurdistan Investment Commission, attracted a substantial audience. 

Notable attendees included the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Mr. Masrour Barzani, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Ali Al-Alaq, the Chairman of the Union of Arab Banks, Mohammed Mahmoud El-Etreby, and the Chairman of the National Investment Commission, Heydar Makiya, as well as numerous officials from the governments of Baghdad and Erbil, members of parliament, chancellors, bank board chairpersons, authorized directors, employees, entrepreneurs, financial and economic experts, and more.

Throughout the conference, in its key speeches and during three discussion sessions, the role of the banking sector in supporting and fostering development was deliberated upon, alongside the positive impact of external banking relationships on the sector. The conference also explored themes related to diversifying services, advancing financial technologies, and innovation.
