The Iraqi Private Banks League participated in a meeting held by the Parliamentary Electricity and Energy Committee, attended by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers’ Advisory Board, Dr. Ammar Khalaf, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, and Ali Tariq, the League’s Executive Director. The discussion focused on mechanisms to support the Central Bank of Iraq’s initiative to finance renewable energy projects.
Participants emphasized the importance of implementing Executive Order 54 of 2021 and integrating renewable energy programs into the budgets of ministries and government entities which aims to promote sustainability and provide clean energy sources for individuals and institutions.
The Iraqi Private Banks League reaffirmed its commitment to supporting national initiatives by financing renewable energy projects, starting from the banking sector’s role in driving sustainable development and fostering investment in clean energy.
