The Iraqi Private Banks League has signed a cooperation agreement with Frankfurt School of Finance and Management in Germany, aiming to enhance collaboration in training, consultancy, and academic activities.
The agreement is part of the Public Finances and Financial Markets in Iraq (FFM)project, organized by the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) and funded by the European Union and the German government.
The agreement was signed by the Deputy Executive Director, Ahmed Al-Hashemi, representing the league, and Fatima Derks, Vice President of Frankfurt School of Administrative and Financial Sciences, in the presence of Nizar Rafea, Director of Development and Training at the Central Bank of Iraq.
Al-Hashemi highlighted that the agreement marks a new phase of collaboration between Iraq's banking sector and Germany, facilitating knowledge exchange and expertise transfer. He added that the agreement includes organizing joint training courses in Iraq and Germany on various banking topics, which will significantly benefit Iraq’s banking sector by enhancing skills and competencies.
On the other hand, Derks emphasized the importance of this partnership in fostering mutual knowledge and expertise exchange, describing the agreement as a promising step toward a fruitful partnership.
