The Iraqi Private Banks League (IPBL), through its executive director, Ali Tariq, and in the presence of representatives of a group of banks, and financing companies for small and medium-sized projects and microfinance institutions, participated in the conference announcing the initiative of small loans for women, which was organized under the auspices of the Women Empowerment Department in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, the International Finance Corporation and the IPBL.
"The initiative of the Central Bank of Iraq to finance small and medium-sized projects has supported Iraqi women wishing to establish a project or develop their projects at a low-interest rate that does not exceed a decrease of 2.5%,” said the executive director of IPBL, Ali Tariq, in his speech. “The Iraqi Private Banks League and the banking sector support women's economic empowerment," he said.
The program included providing soft loans to a group of women who will complete special training on managing their small projects at the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce supported by the institutions participating in this conference.
